After several weeks of work and planning by Indian River County Clerk of Court Ryan Butler, Circuit Judge Cynthia Cox, and various Court Administration staff as well as members of the United Way and John’s Island Community Service League, a self-help center is now open located in the Indian River County Courthouse.
The Jeffrey R. Smith Access to Justice Self Help Center is officially open! At the Center, pro se litigants with Civil or Family cases will be able to receive help navigating the legal process. Services will include assistance in completing legal paperwork, scheduling hearings, attorney consultations for $1.00 per minute, and more. An online kiosk is available at https://fl.legalkiosks.com/ for those who would like to access services from their own device.

The Center is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Appointments to speak with attorneys are currently being scheduled. The first appointment for a Family attorney will be on October 5th and the first appointment for a Civil attorney will be on October 11th.
