The Indian River County Mental Health Court held their eighth graduation on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. in Courtroom 5 of the Indian River County Courthouse in downtown Vero Beach. 21 Mental Health Court graduates attended and received certificates of completion.
Mental Health Court provides mentally ill defendants with the opportunity to receive community-based treatment and services through local providers while under the supervision of the Court.
Sheriff Deryl Loar congratulated the graduates on the hard work it takes to make meaningful transformations in their lives. Judge Cynthia Cox oversees the program and provided words of encouragement. Some of the graduates provided a testimonial statement about how the diversionary program changed their life. One graduate in particular said she was in better control of her future and very grateful for the relationship she developed with her care providers and particularly the care shown to her by Judge Cox.
Congratulations to all. The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit team is proud of you.
