Mentor Boot Camp on March 13th and 14th

The Nineteenth Judicial Circuit has Veterans Treatment Court in Indian River, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee County. We are pleased to announce veteran mentors from all three programs participated in a Mentor Boot Camp on March 13th and 14th. This two-day training event was provided by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) in collaboration with Justice for Vets (who is a national training and technical assistance provider for the Bureau of Justice Administration). Veterans Treatment Courts thrive, in part, because they facilitate veterans in the community to be of service to their fellow veterans involved in the justice system due to mental health disorders, trauma, and substance use. This training is crucial to mentor professional development, as it provides veteran mentors with the knowledge and skills to support our veterans who chose to participate in the program.
